A Hand Painted Child’s Chair by The Dutch Haven Company Early 20th Century
The Hitchcockville style chair with painted crest rail centered by pinecones and spruce sprigs. The crest rail is raised on round and flared stiles flanking a lyre shaped back splat. The Shapley seat is raised on four round and tapering legs joined by a box stretcher. The body is painted in an orchar paint with red trim. The verso is stamped with the name of the company and the town in Pennsylvania they were located in. This stamp is not clear.
Size: 10” seat height 20.25” crestrail height 10” wide 10” deep
Condition: Good, the look of this chair is fantastic with all the necessary light wear to create interest. However, the crestrail has been repaired on both sides. The stiles and back splat are also slightly loose.
