After assembling other Ohio artists and businessmen, he had 26 cities bid for the new company's placement. Upon choosing Camden, Arkansas as the winning city, the company's name was chosen (Cam-Camden; Ark-Arkansas). Camark fluctuated between fine art pottery, industrial pottery, and commercial production throughout its years of operation until it closed at the end of 1982.
