Collector's Notes:
19th Century Roger Smith Co. Rams Head Salt Cellars in Original Box circa mid-late 19th Century.
Rogers Smith & Co was a Connecticut company in operation from 1857-1877.
Expected wear for age. Box shows most wear with color vibrancy loss on the exterior consistent with age, it also has one exposed hinge which would need to be tucked back behind the leather-like outer-wrap and tacked back down (it could also be left as-is with careful opening and closing of the box). The salt cellars and spoons show little wear with minor scuffing consistent with polishing and age.
