Transform any surface to a sophisticated accent to your space with this amazing antique Japanese tray. Made of lacquer to look like tortoise shell, this dish is shaped like a leaf and has scalloped, wavy edges. In the center, gilt gold paints an illustrated nature scene of a Crane in flight above water. A house, tree, and foliage emerge from the hillsides. There is a piece of what appears to be Mother of Pearl in the knot of the tree. Around the rim, a cross hatch pattern is painted on to frame the piece. Seen at most angles, this trinket tray seems to float due to the shape and location of the base. Feel regal, but still connected to nature with this unique Meiji Period work of art!
