Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Baby Shoe Mother of Pearl Rattle; made by R Blackinton & Co. circa 1900.
R. Blackinton & Co. operated in North Attleboro, MA from 1862-1967. Though they were sold in 1967, Roswell Blackinton's family line stayed in the trade. Today, his great-great granddaughter reclaimed the longstanding trade name with modern family business: S.R. Blackinton.
Stamped "STERLING" with "R" in a frame, "B" with a sword through its center and also framed, and "Co" also framed on the topside of the shoe. "STERLING" is also stamped on the belt styled loop.
Condition: Very Good
Expected wear for age; minor surface scuffing and discoloration consistent with sterling silver of this age, belt loop is slightly askew and bent, shoe seems dented in a few places. Inspect images and video.
