Bring you room to life with the vintage blossoms in this 1960s Botanical Oil Painting!  The broad jagged green leaves of the dandelion give the weight to the image. As in nature, all the flowers are in various stages of bloom. Entangled with the dandelion are blue bell flowers, small red flowers, and wild grass. Together, against a neutral background, the flowers are the focus of this painting. Hang it in your favorite room to feel the joy of a vintage Spring!

The W. T. Burger Co. was an offshoot of the Indiana-based framing business Thanhardt-Burger Corp., which was founded in 1933. By 1946, the W. T. Burger Co. was created to commission and sell art to provide customers with affordable, pre-framed paintings. The company hired living, often little-known European and Asian artists to produce a large quantity of art specifically for the U.S. home decor market. The names signed on the paintings, such as "Sol," were often not well-documented artists and may have been factory signatures. This piece, however, gives a full name and bio to the signature on the back via a sticker that reads:

"SOL JORGENSEN:
Sol Jorgensen was born in 1925 in Copen-hagen, Denmark. She signs all of her paintings with the name of Sol because her original art training came from the Royal Danish Porcelain Company in Denmark. She started painting on her own a few years ago. Everything that she paints is directly from nature and this is why there is such a fresh lively look to her paintings. She has taken study trips throughout Italy and France to further her education and experience in paint-ing. Her delightful little paintings are thoroughly enjoyed by art collectors both in Europe and America."
