Did you know Henredon was a North Carolina company founded by four men in 1945? The company is named using parts of the founder's names (Henry Wilson, Ralph Edwards, Donnell VanOppen, and Sterling Collet). Their first product line included three chest trunks which were very popular at the time. Soon enough, they expanded their offerings to include a variety of hand-crafted furniture. During a time of out-sourcing, the company had to begin importing some pieces to keep up with the competition. Henredon officially stopped making furniture in 2013.
