Jean Carlu (1900-1997) was a pioneer of modern graphic design known for his use of abstract shapes and clean lines. This poster was created in 1950 when transatlantic air travel became more accessible to civilians. The poster depicts a lady holding a basket of flowers and a rose, symbolizing the allure of a Parisian holiday. Illustrations of famous Parisian landmarks are visible in the background, including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Sacré-Cœr, and the obelisk at Place de la Concorde.
