Have you ever desired to wear a scenic work of art? With this Antique Cameo Brooch, you can consider that wish granted! A large oval shell hand carved and framed with polished 14K Yellow Gold. Where most cameos depict a singular figure, this particular cameo features six female figures and what appears to be a cherub in NeoClassical style. They gather in the valley of a city, under a tree and one woman carries a spear while protecting a basket of fruit. Whether attending a performance or curating your own home collection, this gorgeous 19th Century Italian Brooch is the perfect accessory!

 Collector’s Notes:

Condition: Very Good -  Excellent

Signed "MAZZA" on cameo face in lower right corner. The Mazza family has been crafting fine jewelry for two centuries.

Expected wear for age. Minor scuffing and warping of gold. Brooch pin closure looks to have been replaced at some point (see images; different soldering sheen near closure). Original closures from 19th Century usually had gold hallmarks stamped in them. We had a jeweler examine the gold and confirmed it 14K.

 Size: 2 3/4” high; 3 5/8” wide; 3/4” max depth
