Tinted lithograph circa 1845 in the style of 17th century European prints. Published by Louis Haghe. The addition of color gives this lithograph a little more life and light. We love the depth and detail of the home pictured. Ornate decorations from floor to ceiling! And we can catch a glimpse of the rest of the home through a pillared doorway guarded by a stoic bust.

Louis Haghe, Belgian (1806-1885)
Haghe was a Belgian born lithographer and watercolorist who moved to London in 1823. He co-founded the firm Day & Haghe with William Day, which became one of the most famous lithographic printing houses in the early Victorian era.
Haghe is particularly known for his work in producing color prints and published works covering various subjects, including architectural images, topographies, and landscapes. Their success led to them being placed in the service of the Queen of England in 1836.
