The Tudor era government was filled with drama and high stakes. Separately framed are two equally elegant Royal Portraits of the mascots of this era: Mary Queen of Scots (1542 – 1587) and Elizabeth "Queen of England, France, and Irland" (1533 - 1603). These framed prints were once part of "The History of England" anthology originally written in French by Mr. Rapin de Thoyras and translated with additional notes by Nicolas Tindal and published in 1733. Though family, Mary and Elizabeth would never be able to join forces as their religion, supporters, and public status depended on their firm stances and independent direction. Female rulers suspended in political history and artwork that can be admired daily!
