A spoonful of Antique Silver makes any day brighter! This charming pair of Mappin & Webb Salt Cellars is from 1910. Each rounded body sits on three curved legs raising them from the table. A patterned rim frames the cobalt blue glass cup inside. One silver spoons for each miniature vessel.

Collector's Notes:

Pair Antique Mappin & Webb Sterling Silver Cobalt Glass Footed Salt Cellars; stamped with Birmingham Anchor Symbol, the royal lion, and Birmingham's 1909-1910 "k" assay symbol. Mappin & Webb hallmark has only half of the first "M" but the "N&WB" in the rest of the hallmark is visible.

Spoons are married with the set; each slightly different. One is also Birmingham Sterling Silver stamped with the 1909-1910 "k" assay symbol but from E.S.Barnsley & Co silversmiths; "E.S.B." hallmark. The other is a "W & H" for Walker & Hall; a "crown" for the Sheffield hallmark circa 1918 as signified by the "a".
