Pair Vintage Royal Doulton Flambe Scenic Red Black Glazed Ceramic Vases; English; 20th Century. Royal Doulton logo stamped on bottom visible on one vase and a sticker on the bottom of the other.
Flambe was a process created in the Ming Dynasty in which high temperature firings of red glazes including substances such as copper oxide would create a rich, red coloring. Royal Doulton began replicating this process at the turn of the century. Royal Doulton began manufacturing pottery in 1815 in London.
