This etching (circa 1892) depicts Berthe Morisot, born in 1841 in Bouges, France. Morisot was a prominent French Impressionist painter and a contemporary and friend of Renoir. Certificate of authenticity from Park West Galleries included and stored on the back of the piece.
Condition: Very Good - Excellent
Expected wear for age; Not inspected outside of frame. Paper appears slightly warped and aged, respective of age. Frame has shows minor wear and one small dent on the top right. Inspect images and video.

Pierre Auguste Renoir, French (1841-1919)
Born in Limoges, France in 1841, Renoir was a leading figure in the Impressionist movement. He obtained his early art study at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and decided in a career of painting. Although he was interested in solidarity of form and richness of color, Renoir adopted the Impressionistic technique of broken color. He preferred figure painting to panorama, and represented the more sociable aspects of Impressionism. Renoir died in Cagnes in 1919.
