Vintage Handblown George Thompson (1913-1981) Steuben Clear Glass Art Vase; Circa 1950s
George L. Thompson, born in Nebraska in 1913, earned degrees from both the University of Minnesota and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for architecture. In 1936, Thompson joined the design department at Steuben Glass Works. By his retirement in 1974, he was a senior staff designer. Thompson's works were shown in every Steuben exhibit and now are represented in the esteemed collections of museums and galleries like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Louvre.

Less than expected wear for age and function; surface scuffing visible with scrutiny.
