Let us introduce an absolutely stunning Art Nouveau style Lalique crystal figure of Leda and The Swan; a Greek Myth that has inspired artists for centuries. Although provocative, tragic, and unusual, the myth has captivated generations of people for these exact reasons. There are many subtle variations of this story, but all consist of Leda and her remarkable beauty capturing the attention of Zeus. Zeus, a categorically lustful god, disguised himself as a swan fleeing death in order to rush into Leda's arms and then "seduce" her. The details of this story vary - hence the quotations. Did you know this myth inspired Marlene Dietrich's 1935 Hollywood Halloween costume? In turn, Bjork and Dior have also played with this design concept. No matter how you interpret the ancient story, this frosted clear crystal figurine is a sculptural icon!

Collector's Notes:

Vintage Art Nouveau Lalique Leda Swan Mythological Frosted Crystal Figurine

Condition: Excellent

Expected wear for age and preloved item; base displays minor scuffing. No chips or loss visible. Likely would've had a Lalique sticker or "Made in France" sticker on bottom, but is no longer there. Does not diminish piece however because it is signed on the side "Lalique circled R France".
