Miniature pottery vase handmade by Acoma Pueblo artist, Mary Lewis. It is precious with tiny handles and hand painted details! Lewis's work celebrates the cultural heritage of her tribe and New Mexico. This piece may be small, but it utilizes techniques, shapes, and patterns passed through generations of hands. Daughter of Lucy Lewis, one of the Four Matriarchs of Acoma Pueblo Potters, Mary Lewis was born in 1923 and grew up watching her mother and other artisans create traditional pottery.
