Authentic ceramic planter by ceramic artist Phyllis Seltzer (1928-2023). Phyllis was a well-rounded Cleveland, Ohio artist known for her printmaking, paintings, sculpture and studio ceramics. This style of American craft pottery was very popular mid to late 20thC. It has a beige/tan stoneware body with an unglazed matte texture. Prominent brushstroke panel accents in varying shades of black/slate. The bottom does not have a drainage hole.
Signature/Hallmarks: signed on bottom.
Condition: Very Good; Used
Expected wear for age; Was used as a planter, inside is stained, organic matter was stuck to outside and left a white streak. Overall vessel shows no damage; note clay cracking at bottom is original from firing and not sign of age. Inspect images and video.
