Towle Silversmiths has origins tracing back to the 1700s. William Moulton III was the first recongnized silversmith in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Fun fact: Mouton III actually moved to Marietta, Ohio in a covered wagon after leaving his smithing business to his son (but taking his tools with him). Anthony Francis Towle was an apprentice during the mid-1800s and eventually incorporated with William Jones. After several decades, Towle Silversmiths became the recognized branding.
