"Briefly concerning the artist: Marion Greenwood’s life has been distinguished by a rich and varied experience in numerous parts of the world. She has spent a great deal of her time traveling in Europe, North Africa, Mexico and Asia, and recently completed a trip around the world. In Mexico she spent four years as part of the Mexican art movement, contributing an important series of murals for the walls of the University of San Nicolas Hidalgo in Morelia and for the civic center of Mexico City. Upon her return to this country in 1950 she continued her mural work for the United States government, after which she resumed her easel painting. She won the Second Carnegie Award for her painting, “Mississippi Girl.” She is represented in the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, the Encyclopedia Britannica Collection, the American Arts Collections of the Universities of Arizona and Georgia, and other private collections.”
